IT'S A SHOWER!

They threw me a shower at work today. It was sooooo fun! I walked in the room and saw that Mike's artwork graced the white boards. He drew a huge picture of a giant baby, and the bib said, "Property of Dunder Mifflin." He knows me too well. Then, he graced us with an original song. Just him, his voice, & his guitar. The words were the perfect mesh of humorous and touching.

There was a schedule for the shower that included a lecture by an associate, Dr. Sherry C. The topic was "How to Make a Baby." I told Irene I must have shown up late because I missed the lecture. She goes, "It only took one minute." I HAD to reply with "That's what she said" as an homage to The Office, Kelly, and Joelf!

After being serenaded, we dug into the wonderful food. There were salads and veggie trays and meat/cheese trays and hummus and brie trays and and and. It was all soooo good. Mindy and Irene did a wonderful job planning. They got me a beautiful and delicious carrot cake from Costco. As we ate, everyone told their "horror" stories (and good ones too) about birth. Thanks, everyone! Then I opened gifts. Man, they blessed me. They did a money tree. I also got a lot of gift cards, a couple of outfits, a couple of toys, some items off our registry, and a beautiful crocheted blanket. We were there for about an hour and fun was had by all. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

What do I have to do, come up there and pack your bag for you? Not everyone has a long labor and all the time in the world to pack during contractions.

All three of my labors were immediate onset, full fledge labor and all my babies were born in less than two hours. No time to think when contractions are three minutes apart or less.

Get it packed! Hope you get it done this weekend. lol ;)

Ha ha! I can see I'm buggin you guys! You KNOW I'm not a planner! Plus, I don't think it's the end of the world if I don't have a bag. Someone can come to my house and get a few things. What do I need anyway besides an outfit for me and an outfit for the baby?? Everything else is just extra. Trust me, I went the route of putting together a whole checklist in an Excel document, but the more I looked at it, the more ridiculous it seemed!

Ok, Ok I'll quit bugging you. Well maybe not. Don't forget to bring your baby book, so they can put foot prints in it. :)
